Leicester City is reportedly looking to sign a defender right now. This conjecture surfaced subsequent to the Premier League, in their infinite wisdom, lifting a transfer embargo imposed on the Foxes.

Apart from that incident, FoL looks at a prediction for the English top-flight division table for the upcoming season. What is the realistic prediction for the East Midlands outfit’s final position?

Leicester City’s EPL 2024/25 end position prophesied

‘Will the Foxes end up relegated in the upcoming campaign’ is probably the question currently on people’s minds. The Blue Army will be especially nervous as preseason gets closer with no manager and now limited staff in place. Trust me, I can attest to the concern.

Then there are the inevitable high profile exits, which we can unfortunately expect. Hopefully Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is not one of the stars sacrificed. Yet I would be unsurprised if the midfield maestro was forced to leave; other standout players could well be sold too. That is if LCFC continued making a mess of their books. That myopic vision caused the Financial Fair Play (Profit and Sustainability) predicament in the first place.

When all of this is resolved (with the hope that a competent head coach and helpers eventually arrive), the Leicester faithful will finally be able to look forward to some signings. With any luck! And that element has received a boost this week. But more on that later. First of all, let’s see what is predicted for the King Power group.

Yorkshire Evening Post carry a story about next year’s EPL table. And it is not good reading for the Leicester fan base nor its hierarchy. Basically, LCFC are expected to be demoted back to the Championship. And, worryingly, it is anticipated that the Leicestershire side will finish bottom in 20th place. Great!

Foxes monitoring Tottenham Hotspur outcast

In spite of LCFC’s legal case against them, the Premier League have ended the club’s transfer restrictions. A move previously speculated by journalists and reported here at FoL. This development means that, once some notable outgoings transpire, Leicester can sign players again like everyone else.

And it appears that the Foxes are getting right into things. They allegedly joined Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leeds United in their pursuit of signing forgotten Tottenham centerback Joe Rodon. The Wales international is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans; he has one year left on his THFC deal.
